Illness Protocols


Safety Measures for Infectious Illness

We request that all students, faculty, staff and family members remain home if they are ill or showing possible signs of any infectious illness such as Covid-19, Flu, etc. Student, faculty and staff may return once symptom free and fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. While at Jean Leigh, If a student begins not to feel well, he or she will call a parent to be picked up. Parents should update their contact information as needed to ensure dancers can be picked up immediately.

 

Hand sanitizer stations are available in the lobby and inside all dance studios.

 

It is recommended that all dancers bring their own labeled water bottle to class. 


Covid-19 Quarantine Protocols

Immediately notify Jean Leigh via phone call or email if your student has tested positive for COVID-19.

 

If a student tests positive, he or she must quarantine for 5 days from positive test. (Day of positive test is considered day 0.) Student may return on day 6 if symptom free for 24 hours.


If a student is directly exposed to Covid-19, he or she must quarantine for 5 days from day of exposure. Student may return on day 6 if he or she remains symptom free. Quarantine for exposure is waived if student has recovered from Covid-19 within the past 90 days. If a household member has tested positive, student must follow exposure guidelines. If a household member has been exposed, student may continue to attend as long he or she is not showing any symptoms.

 

If a Jean Leigh student, faculty or staff member tests positive for Covid-19 within 48 hours of attending class, all students who may have had direct contact will be notified by email. Students will follow the exposure guidelines above.
